An Introduction to the each internal Company
High-grade Functional Components and Equipment
Automotive Components Company
Hitachi Metals' business related to high-grade casting components for automobiles extends back to the Tobata Foundry Co., the very roots of the Company. Tobata Foundry, founded in 1910 by Gisuke Ayukawa, was the first malleable cast iron manufacturing company in Asia. Although the company's primary product was originally iron pipe joints, that technology was eventually applied to automotive castings. Underpinned by such tradition, we have continued to nurture the growth of this technology along with the times and now supply products designed and developed in- house to markets throughout the world. In addition, in recent years we have been concentrating our efforts on environment-friendly products, developing such products as Hercunite (high heat-resistant steel) in response to the market's ever increasing demand for environment-friendly solutions.
