Outline of NEOMAX(R)

The company has been a pioneer in the field of magnet technology, such as KS magnets and NEOMAX®, and has continuously met industry's needs for advanced materials and technology.

The era of modern magnets began with the invention in 1916 of KS magnets by Dr. Kotaro Honda. Since becoming the world's first mass-producer of KS magnets, we have risen to become a leader at high-performance magnets.

In 1982, Dr. Masato Sagawa and his group invented neodymium, iron and boron (Nd-Fe-B) magnet at our Yamazaki Works. This sensational material represented a dramatic leap forward in the performance of permanent magnets and had a major impact worldwide.

NEOMAX® has made it possible to manufacture smaller and more advanced electronic devices than everbefore. We have been licencing Nd-Fe-B magnets patents to major magnet manufacturers to increase availability.

In recognition of this groundbreaking technological achievement, The company was awarded the Okouchi Memorial Prize for NEOMAX® in 1993.
