Voice coil motor (VCM) for hard disk drive (HDD) is the first major application of NEOMAX^®. NEOMAX^® was applied to HDDs in 1986, 4 years after invention. More than 3 billion voice coil motors have been made with NEOMAX^® and licenced Nd-Fe-B magnets until 2007. Before NEOMAX^® was invented, Samarium Cobalt magnet was used for mainframe storage. Since Samarium resource is one digit smaller than Neodymium, Information technology(IT) revolution would have slowed down without plenty supply and affordable cost of NEOMAX^®.
