GMR Sensors Surface-mounted
GMR Sensors
|
| Overview |
Features |
Hitachi Metals has developed a giant
magneto-resistive (GMR) magnetic sensor for use in magnetic rotary
encoders and linear encoders, responding to the trend toward thin
pitches. The Company also has a lineup of surface-mounted GMR sensors
appropriate for the move toward miniaturization.
|
- Hitachi Metals is developing sensors using GMR devices made
of new materials. The GMR sensor has three times the output of
Hitachi Metals' AMR sensors.
- The GMR Sensor operates within a range of
-40°C ~ 120°C.

Principles |
When an external magnetic field is added and the direction of the
magnetism of each magnetic layer becomes unified, the elemental
electrical resistance decreases.
