Given the trend
in magnetic recording toward high-density recording and increasingly
compact products, magnetic heads are coming to play an ever-more
important role. Hitachi Metals, with its long track record, is adding
a variety of products and materials to its lineup. Such additions
include materials technologies (ultrahigh-density sintering, single
crystal cultivation, magnetic alloy materials), ultraprecision, micro-fabrication
technologies (mirror finish, thin-track fabrication) and micro-assembly
technologies (adhesive, ultrafine wiring).
