CERAMIC SCINTILLATOR

Overview
A scintillator is a substance that absorbs rays, such as
X rays and gamma rays, and makes; them visible to the human
eye. Scintillators are used primarily in X-ray computer tomography
(CT) and other medical equipment, analytical devices, gamma
radiation in nondestructive inspection equipment and devices
for detecting radiation leaks. At Hitachi Metals, we have developed
high-density, highly functional ceramic scintillators.Features of Hitachi Metals' Ceramic Scintillator
(1) Supersensitivity/Low afterglow
(2) Hight uniform sensitivity
The central part of the wafer and the edges offer a uniform sensitivity.
(3) Maximized X-ray absorption coefficient
The X-ray absorption coefficient is large, which enables the miniaturization of the scintillator.
