Overview
Our ceramic substrates, made of alumina and titanium
carbide and polished using advanced techniques, are widely used to
make thin- film magnetic heads for computer hard disk drives. These
substrates must not only have smooth surfaces and be free of residual
strain, but must also possess the various properties needed to assure
proper operation of the hard disk drive, especially resistance to
