GMR SENSORS

Overview
Hitachi Metals has developed a giant
magneto-resistive (GMR) magnetic sensor for use in magnetic rotary
encoders and linear encoders, responding to the trend toward thin
pitches. The Company also has a lineup of surface-mounted GMR sensors
appropriate for the move toward miniaturization.
Features
- Hitachi Metals is developing sensors using GMR devices made of new materials. The GMR sensor has three times the output of Hitachi Metals' AMR sensors.
- The GMR Sensor operates within a range of
-40°C ~ 120°C.
Primary Applications
Rotary linear encoders, motion sensors
and position-detection sensors
